Apollo IV « Special « Notre-Dame de Paris » Edition is almost the same weelchair than Apollo IV « Paris 2024″Edition, also displayed on the stand.
It was designed and manufactured in spring 2024, to honour the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on 8 December 2024.

It is an active and luxuous wheelchair.
It is entirely handmade from birch plywood.
It is very high-performance, weighing only 9.5 kg with all its equipment (wheels and cushions).
Its main distinctive feature is the presence of wood from the charred beams of the medieval framework of Notre-Dame de Paris, inlaid in the form of two strips darker than the rest of the wheelchair, at the back of the seat.

This wood comes from oak trees that grew in forests near Paris at the end of the 12th century. These trees, which were used to build the cathedral’s roof structure, witnessed all the major events in French history that took place in the cathedral before the fire that ravaged it in April 2019.
This wheelchair is being showcased at the Rehacare trade fair with seat and backrest cushion covers made from high-end tiger-print velvet by Italian manufacturer Dedar Milano.

This wheelchair is a so-called ‘city’ wheelchair, i.e. a wheelchair that is not specifically designed for sports, but is nevertheless able to cope with the challenges of everyday life.
This wheelchair, created as a demonstration model, is not for sale, but it can serve as a basis for the production of a wheelchair according to a customer’s specific requirements.
